2026 Update

Why have I been silent for 6 years?

1. Got busy with work, then a kid, then another kid.
2. Working on high-visibility systems at scale naturally makes you cautious about publishing opinions on tech.
3. Everything feels covered. With social media and the 24/7 tech discourse machine, it’s hard not to ask: why add to the noise?

For anyone curious enough to stumble across this and read it: I’m doing well. I’m keeping busy balancing family and work.

I recently celebrated my 5-year anniversary working at Google. At the beginning of 2026 I transferred from Google Payments to Google Drive. It’s been a positive change for me, and shipping features directly to billions of users is exciting. It brings massive visibility, more impact, and new & interesting problems to solve.

Beyond work, my two boys are keeping me busy. I got back into lifting when my first was born, and after my second was born I’ve been getting more into running. Heading into middle age, I’ve got a new appreciation for how much your habits compound over time.

As for the noise — I don’t think a personal site is really part of it. Nobody’s algorithm is serving this to anyone. It’s just sitting here at my own domain, which is sort of the point.

That’s pretty much it! Hopefully I’ll have something else interesting to share on here before another 6 years have passed.
